AFERNOON IN COVENTRY


Today we did three hours of lessons as every day, and then we had some lunch. After that, we went to Coventry by bus to the Leisure Centre. Some of us didn’t want to go to the swimming pool, so we went to the shopping centre in Coventry. The others went to the pool and had a lot of fun. It was a relaxing afternoon.

TEN PIN BOWLING IN LEAMINGTON




Today, as every morning we had first the English lessons, but in my own case I didn’t come because I was ill, concretely, I had stomachache, so I had rest at bed and then in the afternoon I went to the school with my host mother to pick up my sisters. The rest of group went to the Bowling and had a lot of fun there.

ALTON TOWERS


Today, we had the most amazing day at England. It’s the day we are all waiting for…. ALTON TOWERS!!! At first, a ll met at NB at half past seven in the morning, then we went by bus to Birmingham, the Town Centre were the group of Birmingham families and BCU were waiting for us. We were all a bit nervous because of the Rides. We arrived there at ten o’clock, and then we did some groups with our friends to go to the Rides. It rains a bit, but we had no problem to go on the Rides, the one I like the most was the Nemesis.
At last, we all met at the entrance at five o’clock and then we took the bus to our homes. It was such a lovely day!!!

SWIMMING IN COVENTRY


On Friday we went to St Peter’s as a normal day, for having class with Sue, after the break we started to think what thinks we are going to do at the Get Together with the families the last Friday.
Then, we had some lunch, and at quarter past two we all met in Newbold Terrace because we had to take the Bus to Coventry, instead the Leamington Leisure Centre, where the Swimming pool is, are not open now because they are working on a better one. When we arrived to Coventry, we saw Godiva’s sculpture, and then we went by walking to the Swimming pool centre. It was great, because this pool has an enormous sledge.

At last we had some free time which we spent at the Poundland.

VISITING OXFORD

On Thursday we went to Oxford. We hop on the Train to Oxford after having lunch at half one. Once there, we met Birmingham’s family group, and we started the visit to the main Colleges and churches there.
At first, we went to Carfax Tower, which was our meeting point, then we walked through High Street to see Saint Mary's Church, which is so Beautiful.
Then we enter into the Merton College, and we saw there the different parts of this College, as the Chapel, the Library, some gardens etc.
At last, we had some free time to go shopping to High street, which was full of Spanish groups and Italian.
Then we took the train to Leamington, and we went home at half six.

MINI GOLF at Saint Nicholas' Park

Yesterday we had classes as always with teacher Sue. We learnt some vocabulary and grammar as well.

After the classes we had until two o’clock some free time to have lunch and to buy several things, as chocolates, cookies, biscuits and so on. We met at the Parish Church at 2, and then we took the X17 bus to go to Warwick.

We got to St Nicholas' Park, in which we played for an hour and a half mini golf. It was very fun, because some of us were a bit bad playing mini golf. It's such as difficult!! Others, who didn’t want to play golf, had fun at the little fun fair this Park has in front of the Mini Golf.

At last, we hop on the X17 bus again to go to the Town centre, and then we had more free time until 17:30, when we all took the different buses to our houses.

VISITING STRATFORD-UPON-AVON


On Tuesday the 11th, after having the everyday English lessons, we went to Stratford- upon Avon.


We took the train at half past one from Leamington railway station to Stratford.

When we arrived there, the first thing we did was visit the outside of Shakespeare’s house, and then we walked through the streets of the Village to go to The Holy Trinity Church, in which Shakespeare’s grave is.


After that we visited the Royal Company Theatre, which is next to the river Avon. In the upper level we found an artistic face inspired in Romeo and Juliet  [Act 3, Scene 2]:



«Give me my Romeo. And when I shall die,
Take him and cut him out in little stars,
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night
And pay no worship to the garish sun.».



At last we had an hour of free time to do shopping, or to buy some Frappuccino. It was great!!

LEAMINGTON QUIZ


Today, we had classes as every day, until 12:20, we have been learning with our teacher Sue such as many different English idioms, and the typical English food, such as, apple pie, trifle, pickle, crumble, roast beef, etc.
After having lunch, we played a game. We did different groups of 5 people, and we started the Leamington Quiz. In this game, we have to find the different clues about the History of Leamington, so we have been walking for more than two hours!! It was fun! When we finished, we all took the bus to go to our houses.

SUNDAY WITH FAMILIES

Today its Family day!! We have to spend all day with our host families. Some of us went to Coventry, because there was a music Festival, which concretely was Godiva’s festival. We have spent there lot of time dancing and eating different things, it was such a great idea to go there! Others went to mass at Witnash St Joseph's or St Peter's in Leamington, and then the played games with the host families and have a bit of Lunch. After that, we all have dinner so early, like at half past five, and we watched some television, it was a lovely day!

THROUGH THE STREETS OF LONDON


Today, at 8:15am we all met at Newbold Terrace, the Meeting point, and then we walked to Leamington rilaway station.

We took the train, and when we arrived at Marylebone Station, in London, we got into the underground for Covent Garden Market.
Not too far away is the British Museum.
Then, we went straight on to the Tower Bridge, which was full of people, it’s so Beautiful!, we have been walking all day, towards lots of streets and important places as Piccadilly, or Hyde Park. At last we had one hour and a half of free time to go shopping, and then we took another train to Leamington Spa where the families were waiting for us.

SPORTS, SWIMMING AND DOCTORS

Today, we started at nine o clock our English lessons; we have learned some new vocabulary, and as well new idioms.


When we finished the lessons, we had some time to eat the packed lunch, and to have a bit of rest at the Pump Rooms, it was a sunny day. Time later, we all met at NB at 13:30 to go to the swimming pool, which this year is in Kenilworth. There, some of we played a bit of football, and at last we go into the water, It was nice!!

THE TOWN OF WARWICK

Today we woke up and we went to school at 9 o’clock, when we finished school, we took the bus to Warwick.


When we arrived there, we started visiting the Old Hospital, and St Mary's Church, in which we went up of the Tower to see all Warwickshire. Then, we had some free time to spend with friends and to buy some drinks.

A VISIT TO BIRMINGHAM


The day began with the English lessons. We had normal classes before the break, and after that, we all play a game called “artist come here”, in which you, have to sit in front of your partner , and tell him or her, several things about your famous artist, as, how old is she or he, likes and dislikes and so on.
After the lessons, we went to the train station, where we had our lunch, because the train which we had to take arrived at one o’clock. Time later, we arrived at Birmingham Snow hill, where the group of Birmingham Families was waiting for us. The first thing we saw was the Pen museum, which is si interesting about, how do they wrote years ago. When we finished the visit, we go with Father Jesus trough some Famous places of Birmingham, and at last, we had an hour and a half of free time for going shopping at the Bull ring. It was cool!!

BOWLING DAY


Yesterday, Tuesday
we had our English lessons as every day, and at the end we played hang-man. Then, we had the break, and we had more classes. After that, we had lunch at the Priors, and some time for shopping, before going to the Ten Pin Bowling. It was such a fun activity; some of us score lots of points!!

At last we took the buses at the Parish Church and we came back to our houses. It was an amazing day!

FIRST DAY IN LEAMINGTON SPA


On Monday, when we all finished our first day of classes, we had lunch at a beautiful park, which is called Jepson’s Gardens. When we finished our packed lunch, we followed Father Santamaría to see the most important places at Royal Leamington Spa. After that, we went to the shop of the bus passes, to buy our passes for the week. Later, we had some free time to go shopping at the Royal Priors, and at last we saw with Father Jesús where we have to take the bus on the way home, and as well where is our Bus Stop.

ARRIVING IN ENGLAND


Sunday 2th of July

Our first day was such a nervous day. The group from Barcelona arrived at Birmingham airport at 14:00. Then we all took the train from Birmingham to Royal Leamington Spa, where the families were waiting for us at Newbold Terrace, when we arrived there, Antonia and Father Jesus told us which family we were going with. It was a different Sunday, and for some of us it was our first day in our lives with a host family.
The Group from Madrid left Barajas Airport at 19:20, and we arrived at Birmingham airport more or less at 20:40, then, when we all had our luggage with us, we took the Taxi in where Father Jesus was in, and collect us from the Airport to our houses, we were all tired, we had our first dinner with host families, and we went to bed.
